All About Japan Blog!

Hey there! Konnichiwa! Krel here with my All About Japan Blog! In ancient times, the Japanese were very superstisious, and belived in ghosts.  They also used weapons like katanas and naginatas. Emperors also ruled. People in ancient Japan also prayed in shrines often, and believed in a number of deities. They also do it now, in the present too. Japan’s flag symbol is a red sun, earning it the nickname “Land of the Rising Sun”. Now, in the present, Japan is known for it’s anime shows, which have been released worldwide since the 1980s. The first animated short was shown in 1917. Examples of animes are: Fairy Tail, Kekkaishi, and Bleach. Hayao Miyazaki, the founder of Ghibli Studios, has also produced a number of movies, such as Tonari no Totoro and Mononoke-hime.  Japan also has famous landmarks, such as Mt Fuji (Fuji-san/Fuji-yama) and Ghibli Studios. Japan also has cherry blossom trees (sakura) that, when its flowers are in full bloom, are very beautiful. Well, that’s all! See ya! Ja ne! Here are some pics, too!

Katsu! Osu! Drum Tao Blog!

Hey! Krel here, with my Drum Tao Blog! Tao is Chinese for way or road. We were late because of me. XS By the time we were there, an act ended already. The best part was a play-like part in which a troop of bad guys appear to steal something and get the good guys to betray each other in a fight. But the rest were really great and loud, with Naruto-like chants. They also played music similar to Naruto, too. They used giant drums, Japanese flutes and guitars, and various other instruments. These guys have a lot of practice, and can beat their drums simultaneously. Also, as the show gets longer, the music becomes louder and more enjoyable. It’s more like a musical to me! You can get a CD or a DVD outside the cinema. The DVD is P1700 while CD is P900. The Drum Tao concert starts at July 12, 2012 and ends at July 22, 2012. The Drum Tao concert is located at Resort’s World Newport City Mall’s Performing Arts Theater. See ya, minna! Sayonara!
